US Magnesium’s integrated chemical and metallurgical complex produces various chemicals and salts.
Calcium Chloride (CaCl₂) liquid can be used as an additive to concrete in winter allowing construction projects to continue in low temperatures.
Chlorine (Cl₂) can be used by the water treatment industry to ensure the water we drink is free of bacteria and viruses.
Ferric Chloride (FeCl₃) liquid solutions are used in drinking and waste water treatment. In drinking water, iron chlorides are used to remove color, to co-precipitate heavy metals like arsenic, and to remove total organic carbon. In waste water treatment, iron chlorides are used to remove phosphorous and heavy metals.
Hydrochloric Acid (HCl) is an aqueous solution with end uses in steel pickling, oil well acidizing, food manufacturing, and ore processing among others.
Magnesium Chloride (MgCl₂) liquid can be used for dust control mitigation as well as being used for the prevention of ice forming on roads during cold months.
Sodium Chloride (NaCl₂) is harvested from US Magnesium’s holding ponds and can be used for ice control, in water softeners and other industrial applications.
